With the way the Internet is buzzing about Brandon Vera‘s broken nose, you have to wonder how such injuries don’t occur more often in a sport that requires men to punch, kick and knee each other in the face.
Make no mistake: The crooked nose is a nasty sight to be seen. It’s just odd that you don’t see faces get reconfigured more often.
Vera suffered the injury at the hands of Thiago Silva at UFC 125.

Comment of the day
You could waste your time reading in-depth analysis, or you could just take this fan’s hard-hitting take on how many championships Boston will win in 2011.
“Zero. That is the right number
1. Pats defense recently exposed by Packers. Defeating the Colts, Ravens or Steelers twice in one season not likely. Woodhead and Welker in for a rude beating by some familiar defenses. Perhaps BB should rehire McDaniels to videotape—for an edge?
2. Celtics are old. Clear favorites to win the East? Huh? They are not clear anything right now. No championship for a long time. Enjoy 2008.
3.Red Sox. Stink. Phillies are much better.
4.Bruins. Who really cares.”
