The guys in charge at Anfield definitely realize one of the most important rules in sports — always have a backup plan.

According to lfc.tv, rumors have surfaced that if the £20 million ($43 million) deal for Ajax attacker Luis Suarez falls through, the team may go after Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo, who comes with a much smaller price tag.

Sources say that Negredo's strong performance with Sevilla thus far caught the attention of Liverpool's director of football strategy, Damien Comolli. The team's website claims that Comolli has made a "firm inquiry" about acquiring Negredo.
