Tom Brady battled a nagging foot injury all season, but to what extent it was bothering No. 12 wasn't exactly certain — until now.

According to The Boston Globe, the Patriots quarterback is set to have surgery on Thursday at Massachusetts General Hospital to repair a stress fracture in his right foot. The Globe also reported that there's a chance Brady will move the surgery back to Monday, Jan. 24, although that is unlikely.

The report cites sources that also say that Brady had been dealing with the injury throughout the season, and the surgical procedure to repair the stress fracture is similar to the one that ended the 2010 season for Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia. Brady, though, should be ready for training camp.

Brady had been kept out of practices at times during the 2010 season, and was listed on the injury report at times with the ailment.
