Minka Kelly Denies Seeking Derek Jeter's Comfort During Midflight Panic Attacks, Despite Rumors Derek Jeter, despite being capable of seemingly everything in the entire world, is no savior when it comes to meltdowns on airplanes.

That’s at least what the captain’s girlfriend, Minka Kelly, is saying, after rumors surfaced that she called Jeter amid a mini panic attack on a flight last year. The 30-year-old actress was told she couldn’t hold her dog during takeoff or landing, and waterworks followed, so the story goes.

Kelly told GQ that despite the rumors, she didn’t call Jeter to try to either calm her down or persuade the flight staff that she should be able to hang on to her puppy.

“Do people think that somewhere in my brain, I think Derek can save me from someone telling me my dog can’t fly? If that’s the way I worked, he would have left me a long time ago,” she told the magazine.

While that may be true, if she ever finds herself in need of a Gold Glove that she clearly doesn’t deserve, she ought to give No. 2 a call.

It’s always great when presidents discuss sports, because millions of people will take issue with that one sentence, claiming the president’s focus is in all the wrong areas. It’s like clockwork, really.

“How bout you do something about the economy or Health Care instead of worrying about Sports!”

What was more embarrassing for this goalie: getting undressed in a shootout or whiffing when he tried to hit the puck away in the aftermath? It’s probably the former, but it’s close.
