Some people look for robins or daffodils as the first sign of spring, but in Boston, Red Sox fans work on a different seasonal scale.

Watching players report to spring training is always a good sign that better weather is on its way, and Red Sox fans can always enjoy the Fort Myers footage until the snow melts off the Boston sidewalks.

Fans got an early glimpse at what's to come when one of the Red Sox' newest members reported to spring training a week ahead of schedule as Adrian Gonzalez arrived at the Sox' training grounds on Wednesday morning.

Gonzalez was looking strong in his workouts, and the slugging first baseman said he's feeling good and should be ready to go for opening day.

Now that's music to Boston fans' ears.
