Dustin Pedroia Teaming Up With Adrian Gonzalez for ‘Funniest Thing in Baseball,’ Compares Jose Iglesias to Deion Sanders

Dustin Pedroia Teaming Up With Adrian Gonzalez for 'Funniest Thing in Baseball,' Compares Jose Iglesias to Deion Sanders One of the burning questions on the minds of many Red Sox fans surrounds the opening day lineup. Who will bat where, and how will each player adjust to their role?

Dustin Pedroia doesn’t care where he bats in the lineup, and he said that’s the mentality of most players in the Red Sox’ clubhouse. Even though Pedroia has spent much of his career in the No. 2 spot, the second baseman said he’d be willing to move around to accommodate the team.

“All the guys, we talk about it in the clubhouse,” Pedroia said of the batting order. “Nobody really cares. We know we’re going to have a good offense, we just gotta go out there and execute.”

No matter where he hits, however, Pedroia knows his strengths and he’ll be sticking to them once the season rolls around.

“I’m not trying to hit home runs,” Pedroia said. “I’m just trying to hit line drives and get on base, hit doubles and score runs. That’s what I’m good at and I’m going to try and stick to doing that.”
