Starting Thursday, some of football's most impressive pro prospects will all come together to show off how strong and fast they are. And, for whatever reason, a lot of people, the majority of which have no real vested interest besides rooting for their favorite team, will watch very closely.
In a time where we tend to overhype everything, especially when it comes to sports, the NFL scouting combine is right up there in terms of overhype. All teams put stock into the combine, with some putting more in than others. Regardless, over the past few years has become a huge event.
Combine results can make or break a players draft stock. Some guys have fallen rounds because of a bad combine, which is ironic, especially when you consider most of the events have very little if any direct correlation to how good of a football player you can really be at the next level.
Besides, Tom Brady wasn't the most imposing figure at his combine day back in 2000. How's that working out for him?
