There has been plenty of speculation insisting Wes Welker and Chad Ochocinco could be teammates in 2011, but that story has yet to fully play itself out.
The two wide receivers were on the same field Thursday, though, as the pair trained together at Bommaritos in Florida. Ochocinco tweeted a photo of himself and Welker — Ochocinco's proclaimed "Madden teammate" — cooling off after a workout.
Patriots cornerback Darius Butler and free agent running back Fred Taylor have also joined the long list of NFL players at the training facility.
Ochocinco has one year remaining on his contract with the Bengals, but it's unclear if their marriage will extend into an 11th season. If it doesn't, there's speculation that he could join the Patriots. That belief comes from his close relationship with head coach Bill Belichick.
If Ochocinco is sent packing, through a trade or release, it can't happen until the CBA is resolved or the court system ends the NFL lockout and permits roster movement.
