Kemba Walker Embracing Leadership Role, Says Anything Less Than NCAA Title Is Disappointment

It was an up-and-down season for the University of Connecticut basketball team, but they’ve apparently saved their best work for the end.

After winning five games in five nights to wrap up the Big East tournament championship, the Huskies, led by junior point guard Kemba Walker, have an even bigger trophy in their sights.

“I know we played five games in five days, but you can’t ask for anything more,” Walker said of the upcoming tournament. “We’ve got a couple of seniors on our team, and this is their last NCAA tournament, and I think those guys are going to go out and give it all they’ve got.

“We’re all going to go out and give it all we’ve got. We’re not going to let fatigue beat us. … We want to win, and we’re not going to blame anything on being tired.”
