Dustin Pedroia Says Red Sox ‘Grinded It Out’ in Win Over Twins

Dustin Pedroia has been struggling this homestand, but it hasn't stopped him from stringing together some solid at-bats, even if the end result isn't always what he anticipates. Nevertheless, he and the rest of the Red Sox lineup were able to grind out a 9-5 victory over Carl Pavano and the Twins on Sunday.

Pedroia was pleased with starter Daisuke Matsuzaka's ability to keep the Sox in the game, which eventually gave the offense a chance to turn things around and grab a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

"Guys were swinging the bat better, longer at-bats," Pedroia said. "We're trying to wear the other team's pitching staff down and we've been doing that lately."

To hear what else Pedroia had to say on Red Sox Final following Sunday's win, as well as what catcher Jason Varitek said about Matsuzaka's performance, check out the video above.
