Kenny Dalglish Signs Three-Year Deal to Be Full-Time Manager at Liverpool Kenny Dalglish has been credited for the remarkable turnaround at Anfield this season, and he's been rewarded in the form of a three-year contract.

Dalglish signed a three-year extension to be Liverpool's full-time manager on Thursday, as announced by the club. First-team coach Steve Clarke also signed a three-year contract.

"It was obvious to us very early on that the atmosphere surrounding the club had been transformed by his presence," principal owner John Henry said of Dalglish. "No one else could have produced such a response. Therefore, I'm delighted we have agreed to a new contract. We didn't need nor want to look elsewhere for the right man to manage the team."

"It was extremely important that we enjoyed a period of stability after some difficult times, and Kenny has done a tremendous job over the last three months in bringing the whole club back together," said Tom Werner, club chairman. "It's clear how much the players have responded to his leadership, his man management skills and knowledge of the game and that sense of optimism now runs throughout the club."

Dalglish, 60, took over a struggling Liverpool club in January, and he now has the club in tight competition to qualify for Europe next season. Still, the manager wants to share the credit.

"This is a unique football club and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to help build something special here again," he said. "I want to salute the efforts of all the players, as they have been fantastic, and thank everyone at the club for the welcome they have given me since I returned in January."
