Kevin Youkilis Scratched From Red Sox' Lineup With Sore Left Hand, Replaced by Drew Sutton Kevin Youkilis was a late scratch from the Red Sox lineup Wednesday afternoon, the result of a sore left hand.

Youkilis reportedly hurt the hand in a dive made in the field, perhaps on a fantastic stop in the seventh inning Tuesday night that prevented a ball from getting down the line and a run scoring for Cleveland. He dove to his backhand side and smothered the ball, nearly recovering in time to get Orlando Cabrera in a dash to third base.

Drew Sutton, who took over for a banged-up Dustin Pedroia on Tuesday, will start in place of Youkilis and bat ninth. David Ortiz slides into Youkilis' customary cleanup spot.
