Dave Roberts Enjoying Teaching Aspect of Coaching, Says He’s Forever in Debt to Red Sox Organization

Dave Roberts is back at Fenway during the Red Sox' three-game series with the Padres. He's currently serving as the Padres first-base coach after a season as an assistant in the team's front office.

Most importantly, though, Roberts is now cancer-free.

The former Red Sox outfielder, who is mostly known for his epic steal in Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in March 2010, and subsequently underwent treatment in the Boston area. Roberts said prior to Tuesday's game that he is forever grateful for the support he received from the Red Sox organization during his battle.

To hear what else Roberts had to say prior to Tuesday's Red Sox-Padres game, check out the video above.
