Josh Hamilton is hitting terribly during day games, but superbly at night. He said he thinks the difference comes from the color of his eyes, Yahoo Sports reports.

Hamilton is batting .122 during the day this season and .374 at night. According to optometrist Richard L. Ison, it is harder to see during the day with blue eyes than with dark eyes.

Ison said lighter eyes receive more light because they lack pigment, creating glare and a bad focal point. Therefore, he recommended that Hamilton wear sunglasses.

"I ask guys all the time: Guys with blue eyes, brown eyes, whatever … and guys with blue eyes have a tough time [during the day]," Hamilton told ESPN's Bryan Dolgin.

"I just got some new sunglasses that I wore last year that I did not have any more of and couldn't find any more of so I got them again. Hopefully that'll help my eyes relax enough to take them off and bat and put them on again."
