Proposed New Jersey Bar Named ‘Buck Foston’s’ Denied Liquor License for Inappropriate Name

It looks like there are certain things that you can't say when it comes to the rivalry between Boston and New York. Funny thing is, a New Jersey mayor is the one deciding what crosses the line.

The New York Post is reporting that New Brunswick, N.J., mayor Jim Cahill denied a planned bar named "Buck Foston's" a liquor license because he thought its name was inappropriate.

The bar owner, Larry Blatterfein, told Page Six that the mayor doesn't like the name of the bar and that's why his application for a liquor license was denied.

Blatterfein's lawyer says he plans to sue the mayor, arguing that "Buck Foston's is a fun play on words that pays homage to the century-old rivalry between New York and Boston teams."
