Phillies’ Dominant Starting Rotation Has Helped Ease Worries About Questionable Bullpen

Coming into this season one of the biggest question marks surrounding the Philadelphia Phillies was going to be their bullpen.

However, armed with a dominant starting rotation anchored by Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels and Roy Oswalt, concerns about the bullpen have been forgotten at times, thanks in large part to a rotation that often works deep into games.

The rotation may have to be even better in the coming weeks, as the Phillies have lost both Brad Lidge and Ryan Madson to injury for now.

Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley talked about how important the starting pitching has been in Philadelphia given its shaky bullpen.
