Drew struck out in the top of the first inning and fielded one chance in the bottom half. He was replaced in the field in the bottom of the second by Darnell McDonald.
The incident apparently came during batting practice when a ball bounced up and struck Drew in the eye. By the time he took the field in the first inning, it had swelled up to the point to where the eye was nearly shut.
Drew is hitting .232 with four home runs and 18 RBIs this season.
