Any hopes of a Boston homecoming for Keith Yandle may have been put to rest on Tuesday, as the 25-year-old defenseman signed a five-year deal with his current team, the Phoenix Coyotes.

Yandle has reportedly signed a five-year, $26.25 million contract, which will keep him in the desert through the 2015-16 season.

The Boston native was drafted by the Coyotes in the fourth round of the 2005 NHL draft and has steadily progressed each season. He was named an All-Star last season — the first selection of his career — when he tallied 11 goals and 48 assists.

Yandle has played in all of Phoenix's games each of the last two seasons, and has 32 goals and 112 assists for 144 points in 283 career games.
