There are certain players in the NHL that have a reputation as being guys you wouldn't want to mess with. Bruins veteran Shawn Thornton certainly falls into that category.
However, standing in the other corner of the ring of this Nov. 10 battle was Pittsburgh's Eric Godard, a more-than-worthy fighter himself. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that when the two players squared off early in the first period, the 50-second long fight ended in a near draw.
Both Thornton and Godard got a few good punches in, but they would have needed another round to determine a winner.
