NESN Nation Salutes Jeff Francis for His Role As a Footnote in Baseball History

One of the many things that makes baseball awesome is the history of the game and how we remember that history. Some players, teams or events are footnotes in history. The Kansas City Royals' starter on Friday night, Jeff Francis, is one of those footnotes.

Francis, of course, took the ball in Game 1 of the 2007 World Series against the Red Sox and didn't fare so well (just ask Dustin Pedroia about that one). But, we can't take away the fact that Francis started a game in the World Series, against the Red Sox, and he will always have that.

And he'll always have a spot in baseball history.
