Things are getting tight for the Red Sox, as the Tampa Bay Rays are surging and look determined to make a race out of the AL Wild Card after all.

Going into Saturday night's game, the Rays are as close to the Red Sox in the standings as they have been since mid-July. And if things don't begin to turn around for the Sox soon, the Wild Card race could get even closer.

Kyle Weiland takes the mound on Saturday looking to stop the bleeding, as the Red Sox continue to battle through injuries.

Anybody on the mound not named Jon Lester has been an adventure lately, and with Kevin Youkilis battling hip bursitis, the entire team seems like it needs a little pick-me-up.

NESN Nation's Nate Hinchey is hoping that Weiland can be that infusion of fresh blood that the team is missing. After all, if the Red Sox do pull it together and beat the Rays these next two games, it could end up being the death blow to a team already on the ropes.
