It was a wild first Saturday of college football, and the Fighting Irish were at the heart of it. Unfortunately for Notre Dame, though, the buzz in South Bend was the result of an upset at the hands of the University of South Florida.
Tune in to NESN at 8 p.m. on Sunday to see a replay of the exciting game, which featured an emotional victory for USF head coach Skip Holtz over his alma mater.
Notre Dame looked poised to spoil Holtz's return early, but Kayvon Webster's 96-yard fumble return for a touchdown shifted the momentum in USF's favor and the Bulls would never relinquish it.
