“We’ve got lots of top players who can put the ball through the eye of a needle,” Adam said. “It’s who’s confident on the day.
“It’s just important that we make the most of any (set-pieces) we get because they can often be the difference between winning and losing, especially in tight games. Hopefully we can score a lot of goals from them over the season. That can only help us to do better.”
Adam is always present when Liverpool faces a dead-ball situation. He powerfully hits the Reds’ corner and free-kicks with his left foot. The 25-year-old Scot scored from the penalty spot when LFC defeated West Bromwich Albion on Oct. 29, but most of the team’s goals this season have come from open play.
Steve Gerrard scored the opener in the Reds’ Oct. 15 draw against Manchester United. He has missed most of the season with various ailments, but is not the team’s designated set-piece taker when healthy.
Luis Suarez has also taken free-kicks this season, but has yet to find the back of the net in these situations.
