Tyler Seguin’s All-Star Game Write-In Campaign Working After One Week of Voting

Tyler Seguin was left off of the All-Star ballot this season. After all, who would expect a 19-year-old to lead the Bruins in points in his second year in the NHL?

But fans are coming out in force to write in Seguin's name on the ballot. Early results for All-Star voting indicate that after one week, Seguin has received 41,443 votes. That's good for 24th of all forwards, which would make him the last one to receive an invite to the All-Star Game.

Despite not being named to the ballot, Seguin's received more votes than big names like Henrik Zetterberg and Joe Pavelski.

A couple of other Bruins on the ballot haven't been doing so badly, either. Tim Thomas currently leads the voting for goalies over Marc-Andre Fleury while Zdeno Chara is second for defenseman voting behind Erik Karlsson.

The game will be played in Ottawa and the hometown Senators have four of the top six vote-getters in the early stages. Karlsson, Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek all have over 100,000 votes apiece.

Voting closes Jan. 4 and fans can continue to vote until then by visiting Vote.NHL.com.
