Bruins ‘Cold Blooded’ Penalty Killers Come Up Big, Blank Sens on Power Play

Zdeno Chara and Gregory Campbell were forced to sit this one out due to injuries, but their replacements on the Bruins’ penalty kill had no problems living up to the high standard those two set for their teammates.

The Senators went 0-for-5 on the power play and the Bruins beat the Senators 5-2 on Wednesday night behind 47 saves from Tim Thomas and two goals from Daniel Paille.

Adam McQuaid was also given a game misconduct for kneeing, but the PK unit shrugged that off pretty easily and kept up their stonewalling of the Senators power play.

NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette is giving the Bruins’ PK crew our “Cold Blooded” player of the game award to share around the locker room. They’ve earned it over the last 10 games, too: opposing teams are only 2-of-38 on the power play during that time.

Who is your player of the game? Vote in the poll below and let us know in the comments.
