Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshire, Wesley Sneijder Excited About Euro 2012 Draw

The groups for next summer’s European Championship Finals were drawn Friday. The 16-team tournament kicks off June 8 in Warsaw, Poland and concludes on July 1 in Kiev, Ukraine.

Poland and Ukraine will co-host the month-long event that features Europe’s top players and national teams. 2008 champion Spain looks to defend its title as Europe’s best. Germany and the Netherlands are also favorites.

There is no doubt as to which of the four groups should be considered the “group of death.” Group B includes favorites Germany, the Netherlands as well as Portugal (and its gifted wingers) and the well-drilled Denmark.

Here is the complete Euro 2012 draw:

Group A: Poland, Greece, Russia, Czech Republic

Group B: Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Portugal

Group C: Spain, Italy, Republic of Ireland, Croatia

Group D: Ukraine, Sweden, France, England

Here’s what some players who will figure prominently in Euro 2012 had to say about the groups. Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshire and Wesley Sneijder all weighed in on Twitter.
