The Celtics are a team soaked with tradition that's also capable of winning now, making it an enticing destination for free agents. Grant Hill and Shane Battier are apparently two players who understand this.
Hill and Battier are two free agents who have the Celtics on the short list of teams they'd play for, according to SI.com.
Hill has reportedly said the chances are good he'll return to the Suns, but the Knicks, Bulls and Spurs are also on his list, with the Celtics, Warriors and Clippers trailing behind them.
The 37-year-old Hill has averaged 17.5 points per game over the course of his 16-year career. Last season, he 13.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 30.1 minutes per game with Phoenix.
Battier's list reportedly includes the Heat, Spurs, Pacers, Raptors and Grizzlies, in addition to the Celtics.
Battier, 31, who played with Memphis and Houston last season, is known mostly for his defensive prowess. He's averaged 9.6 points per game over the course of his 10-year career.
Kurt Thomas and Leon Powe are also reportedly believed to have the Celtics on their short lists.
