Luis Suarez faces accusations of giving Fulham fans the middle finger after Liverpool’s 1-0 loss Monday. The Reds’ star attacker was leaving the field at Craven Cottage and made the gesture to a section of home supporters, according to the Daily Mirror.
Suarez was involved in several contentious moments during the game and Fulham fans were reportedly chanting “cheat” at the Uruguayan forward as he was walking off the field.
“I haven’t seen the pictures and I’m not taking anybody’s word for it,” Reds’ manager Kenny Dalglish said. “If you show me the picture and what you’re saying is true, then I’ve got a decision to make.”
Suarez could face disciplinary action from the FA (English soccer’s governing body) for this incident.
The 24-year-old is already in trouble with the FA, having been formally charged with racially abusing Patrice Evra during Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Oct. 15. He was charged by the FA in November and is currently organizing his defense. The 24-year-old could be slapped with a lengthy ban if convicted of abusing Evra.
