Liverpool inquired about the 21-year-old last summer, but both Boudebouz and Sochaux directors insisted he should continue to develop at the club he joined as a 14-year-old.
The French-born Algerian international now thinks he is ready for the next challenge in his career, but he would like to join a big club in France.
"I want to be a better player," Boudebouz said, "because I want to leave Sochaux one day. When? At the end of the season I will ask to leave. I would like to remain in France, we will see in June."
Despite the allure of the English Premier League, it looks like he will likely join a top French Club. Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Marseille are possible destinations.
Boudebouz has made 119 appearances in four seasons with Sochaux. He represented France at the U-19 level, but switched allegiances to Algeria at the senior level. He was a part of its 2010 World Cup team, appearing in one of three games. To date, he's scored one goal in nine appearances for the North African country.
