What could be better than talking baseball while also helping out a good cause?
Because that's exactly what will be happening at Fenway Park's State Street Pavilion on Monday, when Theo Epstein and Peter Gammons host the annual Hot Stove Cool Music Baseball Roundtable to benefit the Foundation To Be Named Later, which helps disadvantaged youths.
The event will take place at 6 p.m., and tickets — which are $125 — can be purchased at FoundationToBeNamedLater.org.
Joining Epstein and Gammons will be Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington and manager Bobby Valentine, as well as Yankees outfielder Curtis Granderson and Pirates general manager Neal Huntington.
The panel will engage in an in-depth discussion on the dynamics of small and big market baseball.
"The financial gap between small and big market teams is one of the biggest issues facing baseball today and this year's panel of experts will provide us with an in-depth look into the subject," Gammons said. "I'm grateful to everyone involved in this year's roundtable for lending their time and expertise to such a worthy cause -– disadvantaged youth in Boston."
Monday's event will also feature a reception with complimentary Harpoon beer, wine and a ballpark buffet.
The Baseball Roundtable is a special addition to the thriving Hot Stove Cool Music concert series. Proceeds benefit the Foundation's Peter Gammons College Scholarship fund and non-profit beneficiaries including BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life), Citizen Schools, City Year Boston, The Home for Little Wanderers, Horizons for Homeless Children, Roxbury Youthworks, Steps to Success and West End House Boys & Girls Club.
