NHL Needs to Think Outside the Box for Next Winter Classic to Ensure Event Continues to Grow in Popularity

This year's version of the Winter Classic was certainly thrilling. But as the NHL continues to try and make the event better each year, what could they possibly do next?

Tom Caron, Andy Brickley, Mark Mowers and Billy Jaffe discussed the topic on The Instigators. Each has an idea of what it will take to ensure that the event continues to grow in popularity, rather than plateau. Among the suggestions was the idea of putting the event at an iconic place that isn't typically reserved for sporting events, such as New York's Central Park.

The crew also discussed the comments made by Rangers coach John Tortorella following this year's game.

Check out the video above to hear what they had to say.
