Wayne Rooney is a major doubt for Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round game between Liverpool and Manchester United. The Metro reports Rooney did not practice all week, after picking up knee and ankle injuries in Sunday's 2-1 win over Arsenal.
Rooney has 17 goals in 26 games (in all competitions) for United this season. He's played both as a forward and midfielder this season, and was expected to be United's chief attacking threat Saturday.
Manchester United has a number of injury concerns ahead of the game. Defenders Phil Jones and Rio Ferdinand will miss the trip to Anfield. The same goes for midfielders Ashley Young, Anderson and Nani. The absences of Michael Owen and Rooney have depleted United's forward corps.
Danny Welbeck, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Dimitar Berbatov are the strikers manager Sir Alex Ferguson will have at his disposal, if Rooney misses out on Saturday's game.
