Thailand's 3K Battery has become a new Liverpool FC sponsor. The Bangkok Post reports that Liverpool FC and the car-battery manufacturer have agreed to a three-year contract that gives the Thailand-based company the right to use Liverpool's logo in its advertising campaigns.
The senior vice president of 3K prodcuts Co., Veerawat Korphaibool, said his company is planning a special event. "We plan to organize a promotional campaign for Liverpool fans," said Korphaibool. "Liverpool fans could get a chance to meet Liverpool players like Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Dirk Kuyt and Pepe Reina in England. We are rocking the football world."
Korphaibool hopes this partnership will help the Thai company become larger.
"We are determined to become an international brand with the 300 million Thai baht (£6.1 million) partnership contract."
The Bangkok Post noted that Liverpool is not the first English team for a Thai-based company to sponsor.
"Among them are Singha beer, a global partner of Manchester United and Chelsea; Chang beer, an official partner of Everton; and AP Honda, a sponsor of Manchester United and Liverpool."
According to Liverpool's official website, "…3K Battery is a leading manufacturer and the largest exporter of '3K' to over 70 countries. The company is listed on the Thailand Stock Exchange."
