Bobby Valentine Already Taking Hands-On Approach With Red Sox in Fort Myers

Although the Red Sox weren't scheduled to arrive at spring training until Sunday, many players have already showed up in Fort Myers, showing that this year's team is raring to go.

The Boston Globe's Peter Abraham caught up with NESN's Tom Caron at the Red Sox' new spring training facility on Saturday, and he said that many pitchers have already thrown multiple bullpen sessions since arriving, and that new manager Bobby Valentine is already taking a hands-on approach with his players. Abraham said that Valentine has even stood next to the plate during some bullpen sessions to simulate a batter.

We'll likely see a similar approach throughout this entire season from the tactician, but the preparations of spring training could go a long way toward success later on.

Check out the video above from NESN Daily to hear more about the Red Sox players who have arrived in Fort Myers already, and how Valentine's first few days have gone.
