The Bombers have gotten a well-earned reputation as baseball's biggest spenders, but this winter, the Yankees took a more conservative approach to retooling. Their new approach went to even deeper depths when New York sent A.J. Burnett to Pittsburgh, ridding themselves of not only a tremendously underachieving pitcher, but also millions of dollars in salary.
