Kate Upton’s Presence at Chesapeake Energy Arena Proves to Distract Thunder, Suns

The Kate Upton Factor could be coming to an NBA arena near you.

For fans, the thought of the SI Swimsuit Issue cover model sitting just a few rows away is a great thing. For players? Not so much.

When Kate Upton attended the Suns-Thunder contest on Wednesday night in Oklahoma City, fans weren’t the only ones distracted by her presence. As The Daily Thunder points out, players from the Suns and Thunder combined to shoot just 39 percent at the basket Upton was located under, compared to shooting 49 percent at the opposite end.

“Also, the Suns went 9-12 in the first half from the free throw line, while at the Upton end, they missed six. Including a rare one from Steve Nash,” DailyThunder.com’s Royce Young writes. “Thundor’s big jiggling belly is a pretty good distraction, but obviously not as good as Thunder Upton.”

Is it time to reserve some courtside seats at the TD Garden for Ms. Upton?
