Red Sox’ Starting Rotation Will Come Out Sunday, Manager Bobby Valentine Says

Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said Saturday that he plans to announce his final picks for Boston’s rotation on Sunday.

Once the decisions on the starting pitchers are made, the Red Sox can work on the plan for their bullpen, which is still "a little unsettled," Valentine told NESN.com’s Didier Morais and other reporters in Florida on Saturday.

The question of who will take the fourth and fifth spots in the rotation after Jon Lester, Josh Beckett and Clay Buchholz has been a hot topic all spring, with former reliever Daniel Bard, long-inning man Alfredo Aceves, prospect Felix Doubront and former Rockies pitcher Aaron Cook rising to the top of those vying for the job.

Valentine is also still deciding who the Red Sox will include in the 25th spot on the roster.
