Braden Holtby looked pretty good in the first few games of the Capitals opening-round playoff series. But many of the young goalie's terrific saves were credited more to a lack of Bruins effort in front of the net.
On Thursday, Holtby may have finally swayed the critics in his favor. The 22-year-old goalie made 44 saves on the night, allowing just the lone goal to Rich Peverley en route to Washington 2-1 victory.
Holtby's presence in net was the sole reason for the Capitals win in Game 4 and why Washington tied up the series at 2-2.
Barry Pederson and Mark Mowers broke down what they deemed the Bruins 'best effort of the series,' during NESN Daily.
