Brendan Shanahan Deserves Praise for Slapping Raffi Torres With 25-Game Suspension (Video)

Raffi Torres has been getting away with cheap shots for years. Brendan Shanahan wasn't having any more of it.

Torres has been suspended for 25 games for his illegal hit on the Blackhawks' Marian Hossa. That's the second longest suspension in NHL history — Chris Simon was suspended 30 games in 2007 — and is a clear indication that Shanahan is serious about cleaning up the game.

Shanahan's heavy-handed ways have been the subject of much debate this season, but he got the call right with the lengthy suspension he handed down to Torres.

Check out the video above to hear more about the incident and the suspension.
