Cody Ross Leaves Game With Sore Knee, Expected to Play Thursday

Things may be getting even more interesting for the Red Sox' outfield.

Just days after trading for Marlon Byrd to shore up an outfield corps that has lost Jacoby Ellsbury and Jason Repko, Cody Ross left Wednesday night's game with a sore knee.

Ross struck out in the sixth inning and was replaced in left field by Darnell McDonald.

Ross has been on fire for the Red Sox lately, sparking the team's recent offensive resurgence. He is 5-for-16 over the last four games with three home runs and seven RBIs.

Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine said Wednesday that he expects Ross to play Thursday, according to Gordon Edes of ESPN.
