David Ortiz has said some people think he's not a leader in the Red Sox clubhouse. General manager Ben Cherington says he is not one of them.

Ortiz has been one of the biggest producers this season, but he's also been active off the field. Ortiz called a team meeting that spurted a recent win streak. But he also expressed displeasure Monday night that some people don't see him as a team leader.

Cherington, on the other hand, is totally behind the veteran slugger. He shared his view on Ortiz and what his leadership has meant to the team with Don Orsillo on Red Sox GameDay LIVE presented by UNO .

Check out the video above to hear what Cherington said about Ortiz as well as his thoughts on Clay Buchholz, new additions to the team such as Scott Podsednik and who has been big for the Red Sox this season.
