Mark Melancon Glad to Be Back in Big Leagues, Aims to Be More Aggressive (Video)


It's been a while since we last saw Mark Melancon in a major league uniform.

Granted, the last Melancon was seen he was giving up six earned runs without recording a single out, but after recording 20 saves and a 2.78 ERA over the course of 2011 with the Houston Astros, the right-handed reliever was known to have the pedigree to get the job done out of the bullpen. It's been nearly two full months since Melancon pitched in The Show, but on Monday it looked like he never left, recording a 1-2-3 eighth inning in relief of Josh Beckett.
