Mike Aviles, Red Sox Hitters Impressed By But Unafraid of Stephen Strasburg (Video)

Stephen Strasburg was one of the most coveted pitchers in years coming out of San Diego State in 2009. The flame-throwing right-hander has proven his worth with the Nationals so far this season, posting career bests at 6-1 with a 2.35 ERA entering Friday night’s game.

Red Sox hitters respect what the 23-year-old has done so far in the big leagues, but guys like Mike Aviles and Scott Podsednik don’t fear the pitcher’s 100 mph heat.

NESN’s Jenny Dell chatted up Daniel Nava, Aviles and Podsednik to get their takes on the young flame-thrower.

Check out the video above to hear more from Dell and the players during Friday’s Red Sox First Pitch.
