Report: Wes Welker Tackled by Security, Nearly Involved in Brawl in Aspen

Wes Welker apparently isn't as elusive off the field as he is on the gridiron.

Welker and several of his friends got into a fight with security guards as the Patriots wide receiver was precelebrating his upcoming wedding in Aspen, Colo., according to the New York Post.

Welker and six of his buddies reportedly tried to enter an event sponsored by Patron tequila on Friday night as part of what seemed to be an unofficial bachelor party. They reportedly tried to rush in without checking with party staffers, though, which didn't go over too well.

Sources told the New York Post that security tackled the group. Witnesses reportedly said that the group still wouldn't cooperate at that point, resulting in a near brawl in which Welker and his friends were physically restrained. Security reportedly threatened to arrest the group, but Welker and Co. eventually calmed down and were kicked off the property.

Aspen police confirmed to the New York Post that there was a record of a "lecture and release" incident at the Above the Salt restaurant in Aspen, but they couldn't confirm if Welker and his posse were involved.

Welker and his fiancee, Anna Burns, are scheduled to get married on June 24.
