U.S. Open ‘Jungle Bird’ Apologizes to Webb Simpson, Discusses Funny Incident (Video)

Webb Simpson's trophy presentation at the U.S. Open was overshadowed by a crazed fan who appeared on camera making bird noises.

The fan, who has since been identified as Andrew Dudley aka "Jungle Bird," an advocate against deforestation, apologized during an appearance on CNN for interrupting Simpson's special moment.

"Jungle Bird" said that he wasn't trying to take anything away from Simpson's accomplishment, and that he was just trying to relay his message that deforestation — the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a nonforest use — must be stopped.

"Jungle Bird," who won't face charges for the incident, also described how he went about interrupting the ceremony, and what transpired once police hauled him away.
