Tim Thomas is one of the most unpredictable men in sports.
After proving scouts wrong for much of his early career and bagging a pair of Vezina Trophies to go with a Stanley Cup trophy, Thomas has shocked the B's fanbase by telling general manager Peter Chiarelli that he may be taking the upcoming season off.
Will it be the end of The Tank era in Boston?
Thomas, 38, has gotten better with age, so a year away from the ice may not necessarily be bad for the seasoned netminder. However, with a surging Tuukka Rask at the ready to be the Black and Gold's full-time goalie, Thomas may be taking himself out of the crease if he does opt to take a full year off.
