The July 31 trading deadline came and went without too much noise from general manager Ben Cherington and the Boston Red Sox.

The team did manage to add a left-handed pitcher to the bullpen, however, trading Matt Albers and Scott Podsednik to the Diamondbacks in exchange for left-handed pitcher Craig Breslow. The new reliever provides the Red Sox with the flexibility to move Franklin Morales back to the starting rotation if need be.

Cherington said the Red Sox were targeting a lefty for the bullpen. See what else Cherington had to say in the video above from Red Sox First Pitch.
