Report: Yankees Inquire About Justin Upton, ‘In on Everybody’ Leading Up to Trade Deadline

The Yankees aren't messing around.

With Brett Gardner likely out for the rest of the season, the Bronx Bombers appear to be in search of an outfielder, and they're "in on everybody" in advance of the July 31 trade deadline, according to SI.com.

The Yankees have reportedly checked in on Justin Upton, Shane Victorino, Denard Span and presumably others. Upton, of course, remains one of the deadline's big fish, although he does have a no-trade clause to some teams, including the Yankees.

Any team that deals for Upton would have to pay a hefty price, as it's rare that you can acquire a 24-year-old five-tool All-Star. Upton fits that bill, though, and would become a key cog in any club's lineup.

New York has a commanding lead in the American League East, but Upton would make overtaking the Yankees an even more daunting task.
