Adam Jones Tweets That Jarrod Saltalamacchia Is ‘Heavy Human’ After Collision at Plate

Adam Jones is a big dude.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Orioles centerfielder isn’t likely to back down from any contact in a game, whether it’s from diving for a fly ball, running into an outfield wall or — as was the case Wednesday night — trucking a catcher at the plate.

Jones barreled into Jarrod Saltalamacchia in hopes of scoring during the sixth inning of an eventual 5-3 win for the Orioles. Salty held on to Dustin Pedroia‘s throw, Jones was called out and that was that.

No harm, no foul. Just clean, hard baseball. It was also a pretty serious collision that had Jones tweeting about the play after the game.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

Considering Saltalamacchia checks in at a hefty 6-foot-4, 225-pounds himself, Jones isn’t lying with his proclamation. Maybe next time, he’ll decide to take the safe route and use a hook slide.
