Larry Lucchino runs the Red Sox, and he will again in 2013.
Sox principal owner John Henry made a surprise appearance on WEEI on Thursday afternoon, and he revealed that his president and CEO will return for 2013. The owner said that Lucchino has indeed agreed to a contract extension.
It's unclear at this point how long the extension is for, or if it even extends past the 2013 season.
Henry also denied any reports that the team is in the process of being sold. A Fox Business report was published Thursday claiming that the ownership group was looking into selling the team. Henry denied those claims, and said that the owners are in it for the long haul.
